Ample amounts of water are essential for the production of zirconium compounds. We believe that respecting and conserving water, one of Earth’s irreplaceable resources, is one of our most important missions.
In order to promote the effective and sustainable use of our limited water resources, we are promoting the following initiatives.

Reduce water use and consider reuse

The first step in conserving water resources is to eliminate wasteful water use. We will strive to make effective use of the water used in our production processes and work to reduce the amount of water used per unit of production.
We will also continue to consider the recycling of used water back into the production process as an important issue for the future.

Properly manage wastewater

We strictly control the water quality of wastewater generated in the production process, not only complying with laws and local regulations, but also by establishing our own voluntary management standards. We periodically conduct thorough water quality testing to ensure that no hazardous substances are contained in the water, and that the water is discharged in an environmentally friendly manner. This minimizes the impact on public water resources such as rivers and groundwater.

Cooperate with local communities

Cooperation with local communities is essential for the conservation of water resources. We will work to further deepen our ties with local communities by participating in local water quality preservation activities and sharing related technologies and information. In addition, we will continue to ensure that we always give due consideration to the water environment around our business sites and strive to build positive relationships with local residents.
